About Me

My name’s Harry, I’m 27 and at the moment I live in Hull. I’ve been writing about video games online for over a year and a half and have more than 50 reviews published at a variety of sites, as well as articles, blog posts, lists, previews, interviews and event coverage. I’ve been playing games since my parents brought home a Sinclair Spectrum 128K one cold night in December, many moons ago. They claimed to have been given it in return for helping Father Christmas pull his sleigh out of a ditch. As the years have gone by I’ve come to doubt the voracity of their story, but in spite of that, I was utterly hooked. As an impressionable, snotty nosed youth, I and a group of friends briefly ran a Master System fan zine, hand written and limited to a print run of as many as we could scribble down before our wrists got tired or we got bored and went to find something shiny to stare at. It didn’t last long, but by then the combined video game/writing bug had weedled its way into my brain and taken a firm hold.

I’d like to think that in the two decades since the three issues of “Master Cheats” my writing has improved a little. I’ve written for acegamez.co.uk, honestgamers.com, dailyinformer.net and denofgeek.com. I’ve also written for music sites and zines, and have a number of poems, prose pieces and music reviews on thisisull.com.
